AGCOT Officially Launched: Tanzania Embarks on Nationwide Agricultural Transformation
Dodoma, 27 April 2025 — Tanzania has taken a bold step toward a food-secure and economically empowered future with the official launch of the Agricultural Growth Corridors of Tanzania (AGCOT). Held at the Jakaya Kikwete Convention Center and officiated by Prime Minister Hon. Kassim Majaliwa, the launch marked the strategic expansion of the successful SAGCOT model into a national framework for agricultural transformation.
AGCOT is a flagship initiative under Tanzania’s Agriculture Master Plan 2050 and operationalizes a corridor-based development approach across Central, Northern, Mtwara, and existing Southern regions—mobilizing government, private sector, and civil society to unlock productivity, value addition, and rural prosperity.
