AGCOT’s Investment Blueprints are master plans designed to unlock the full potential of Tanzania’s agricultural corridors. These blueprints build on the success of the SAGCOT model and guide the rollout of corridor-specific investments that are inclusive, market-led, and climate-smart.
📌 What They Do:
- Identify high-potential value chains in each corridor
- Map investment opportunities in production, processing, logistics, and trade
- Highlight key clusters, anchor investors, and enabling infrastructure
- Recommend corridor-specific policy reforms and regulatory improvements
🚀 Building on Proven Success:
From 2010–2024, the SAGCOT Corridor attracted over USD 6.34 billion in investments, transforming southern Tanzania into a food production powerhouse. Now, AGCOT is scaling this success to new corridors:
- Mtwara Corridor
- Central Corridor
- Northern Corridor
Each new corridor is developing its tailored Investment Blueprint (IBP) to ensure a strategic, locally relevant approach to agricultural transformation.

🟢 AGCOT Greenprints: Sustainability in Action
AGCOT’s Greenprints are its environmental and climate resilience frameworks—ensuring agriculture grows without compromising future generations. These strategies promote the adoption of Climate-Smart Agriculture (CSA), support farmers through sustainability training, and open up access to emerging carbon markets.

- Promote CSA practices to increase yields and climate resilience
- Advance soil health, water conservation, and reforestation
- Train farmers in Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) and sustainability
- Support agribusinesses to comply with Inclusive Green Growth (IGG) standards
🌱 By the Numbers (as of FY2024):
- 426,106 hectares under CSA management (103% of annual target)
- 1.28 million hectares adopted CSA since SAGCOT’s inception
- 87% of surveyed organizations aware of IGG compliance; 88% actively applying it
- 500 copies of the IGG Guiding Tool distributed to agribusinesses
💡 Innovations Underway:
- Tanzania Carbon Credit Platform launched to support climate-smart farming and agroforestry
- Expansion of soybean CSA seed systems and lime application training for improved soil fertility
- Support for agroecological practices that enable carbon credit earning
