The AGCOT Information Hub is a strategic platform designed to serve as Tanzania’s central repository for agricultural intelligence. Anchored in AGCOT Centre’s 2025–2030 strategy, the Hub supports the nationwide Agricultural Growth Corridors of Tanzania (AGCOT) initiative. Its primary mission is to collect, analyze, and disseminate timely and accurate agricultural data to inform decisions and drive sustainable transformation across the sector.
At the heart of the Information Hub is a vision of an inclusive, data-driven future—where all actors, from smallholder farmers to large agribusinesses, are empowered by knowledge to make informed decisions, harness opportunities, and contribute to a thriving, resilient, and climate-smart agricultural ecosystem.
What the Hub Offers
The Information Hub will curate and distribute a wide array of data resources, including:
- Value Chain Intelligence: Detailed datasets emerging from AGCOT’s commodity compacts, covering investment requirements, expected returns, partner profiles, and policy considerations.
- Impact Data from AGC Pillars: Insights gathered from ongoing interventions focused on partnerships, productivity, and farmer income enhancement.
- Collaborative Datasets: Integrated data from national agencies such as the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS), soil health institutions, and other strategic partners.
- Policy & Investment Insights: Information on enabling policies, priority investment areas, and challenges specific to agro-ecological corridors.
Why It Matters
The Information Hub underpins AGCOT’s commitment to evidence-based decision-making and inclusive growth. It will play a critical role in:
- Accelerating AGCOT’s impact across the SAGCOT, Mtwara, Central, and Northern corridors;
- Enhancing transparency and accountability in agricultural investments;
- Supporting alignment with national priorities such as the Agriculture Master Plan 2050 and Vision 2050.
AGCOT Information Hub will catalyze a smarter, more responsive, and more connected agricultural future for Tanzania.
