Members Of AGCOT CENTRE

Formerly SAGCOT Centre Ltd.

AGCOT Centre is governed by a coalition of institutions driving agricultural transformation through coordinated investment, research, and industrialization. These founding members represent both the public and private sectors, working in synergy to scale the corridor model nationally.

🌿 1. Tanzania Agricultural Research Institute (TARI)

Representing the Government of Tanzania
TARI is the national body responsible for agricultural research, innovation, and technology transfer. It provides science-based solutions to enhance productivity, improve climate resilience, and strengthen value chains. As the government’s lead institution in AGCOT, TARI anchors evidence-based decision-making.

🏭 2. Confederation of Tanzania Industries (CTI)

CTI represents Tanzania’s industrial sector, including agro-processors, manufacturers, and exporters. It champions value addition, industrial development, and competitiveness across agricultural value chains. CTI plays a key role in aligning AGCOT’s work with Tanzania’s industrialization agenda.

🚜 3. Agricultural Council of Tanzania (ACT)

ACT serves as the voice of Tanzania’s agricultural private sector—linking farmers, cooperatives, agribusinesses, and service providers. It advocates for enabling policies, farmer empowerment, and inclusive agribusiness ecosystems under AGCOT’s corridor approach.

🔄 From SAGCOT to AGCOT

These institutions were founding members of the former SAGCOT Centre Ltd. and have continued their leadership under the new AGCOT Centre, expanding the model from southern Tanzania to all major agro-ecological zones nationwide.
