At AGCOT Centre, we are committed to transforming Tanzania’s agricultural future. Building on the powerful legacy of the Southern Agricultural Growth Corridor of Tanzania (SAGCOT), AGCOT has been endorsed by H.E. President Samia Suluhu Hassan as the national vehicle for inclusive, climate-smart, and investment-led agricultural transformation. As Flagship No. 7 of the Agriculture Master Plan 2050, AGCOT coordinates corridor-based development across the country.
Our Core Approach
🗺️ Cluster Development
We coordinate stakeholders within high-potential geographic zones—including input suppliers, processors, logistics providers, and local governments—to enhance trust, collaboration, and productivity in agricultural value chains.
🌾 Commodity Compacts
We convene partnerships around specific priority crops and livestock, aligning farmers, financial institutions, processors, and technical support providers to remove barriers and scale impact.
👨🏾🌾 Farmer Empowerment
We uplift smallholder farmers through initiatives like Mkulima kwa Mkulima (Farmer-to-Farmer) and organize them into AMCOS, business groups, and youth associations (e.g. VIWAVI)—connecting them with training, support services, and market access.
🌍 National Corridor Expansion
From Ihemi to Kilombero and beyond, AGCOT is replicating the SAGCOT model across Mtwara, Central, and Northern Corridors, tailoring investment blueprints and compact designs to each agro-ecological zone.
